From concept to completion
Proudly Far North.
DEA Build is based in the beautiful Bay of Islands and we're proud to call the Far North home.
We understand the unique character of building in our region, from coastal environments and challenging sites to the importance of creating homes that belong in their surroundings.
Experience
More than 20 years in the building industry means we've seen a lot, and know how to solve problems when they arise.
Family
We're a family business, and we treat our clients' homes and projects with the same care we'd want for our own.
Quality
We don't cut corners to win a job. We believe quality workmanship is worth doing properly the first time.
Personal Service
You'll deal directly with the people responsible for your project, not a revolving door of salespeople and project managers.
Why Choose Us?
Total Building Solutions
We handle building, roofing and scaffolding ourselves, with our own team and equipment. With these services provided in-house, you get one point of contact and hands-on care from start to finish.
Design Thinking
We don't just think about how to build something. We think about how it should look, function and feel when it's finished.
Pride
At the end of every project, our name is attached to the result. That's something we take seriously.
Qualified & Licensed
We’re trade qualified and Licensed Building Practitioners, bringing professional knowledge and practical skills to every build. You can feel confident your project is in experienced, capable hands.

Opito Bay
Originally we got Clint in to fix a leak. No one could find it, or fix it. Within minutes, Clint had found it. Since then we have completed numerous projects with DEA Builders as our main man. We have no qualms in recommending him.
- Simon & Sharon Kerikeri
We feel very humbled to have met Clint, and feel we would still be living in the dark ages, without him and his team.

The problems & issues, that i was told cannot be fixed, were fixed by Clint. The way his mind works & his relentlessness to achieve quality is a spectacle to behold.

Kerikeri
I have nothing but praise for Clint Harpur and his teams exceptional building work. He’s been doing jobs for me since mid 2024.
Recently he helped design and execute our new spa area, with a massive retaining wall, privacy wall, organised the spa concrete slab and pavers, huge extension on the main deck also with foundations ready for roofing in the new year and fixed our drainage problem.
All work is done to standard and more, it’s perfection. His rates can’t be beaten and he’s a pleasure to have working around the house. Can’t recommend Clint and his team any more highly.
- Troy Kingi
I'm happy to recommend Clint who built my house. Clint was fantastic to work with - honest, reliable & clearly skilled at what he does.
From the start he listened to what I wanted, offered great advice, and kept everything running smoothly. The build was well-managed, and Clint was always easy to deal with, straight up & solution focused.
All these years later, the quality of his work still stands out. My home is solid, well-finished and has aged beautifully. I often get compliments on the craftsmanship, and that's all thanks to Clints attention to detail and high standards.

Okaihau
We had an incredibly technical house build, curved walls and roof, with 7 stepped levels. Clint was recommended to us. When we first met Clint, he turned up in jandals, covered in tattoos, and talk about judging a book by its cover. Oh boy, how we were wrong. Clint & his team were absolutely fantastic, honest to a fault and ruthless in their pursuit of quality. Clint's eye for detail was second to none, always striving for better. We still joke with our friends now, how our builder built our entire house in jandals. Cheers Clint & team!
